Affectionately known as ‘The Palace’ due to the available space inside, the One Planet Wurley 3 Tent is a durable tent that performs even in the most hectic of conditions.
Weighing in at around 3.5kgs – it’s heavy, I know – this three-man tent is spacious and has a tub flooring system to keep any water out.
Suitable for all seasons, it is made of breathable material with a full-fabric inner for various climates.
While it is listed as a three-man tent, if you’re my height (190cm) and had someone with you of similar height, there would be enough room for both of your packs to lay down in the middle.
Furthermore, you could easily get three average-sized people into this tent without any issues.
Pros
A couple of the great features of this tent is that it has two entrances and two large vestibules.
This means you don’t have to be climbing over anyone during the night should you need to make a quick dash to the toilet.
It is incredibly easy to set up. It comes with a fly, inner, 3 poles (two corner-to-corner poles and one pole across the middle), and eight pegs.
You don’t necessarily need to use all eight pegs either. I typically use 6 and that appears to be enough.
This will all depend on the conditions you are experiencing.
Cons
Similar to the One Planet Ned Backpack, it is a little on the heavy side for a tent that is used for hiking.
My advice would be to split up the fly, inner, poles and pegs with someone you are camping with or use it when you are camping near your car.
And that is probably the only downside I can see with One Planet Wurley 3 tent.
Retailing at $609 on the One Planet website, this tent would be a great investment for anyone who does regular hiking and doesn’t mind carrying a little bit of extra weight.
Alternatively, if you’re an outdoor education organiser or teacher at a school, this would be a great tent to buy for trips away.
