Whilst you would think getting into the outdoors would be a great way to escape technology, unfortunately, it does follow you in the form of items such as apps and power banks to name a few.
One piece of technology I take with me on most of my hikes is my Xiaomi Power Bank.
This power bank is an absolute beast and charges items such as your phone in record time. Furthermore, it is compatible with phone brands such as Apple, Samsung, HTC, Google and Blackberry (if you still have one!).
With multiple USB output ports, it allows you to charge multiple items at once thus positioning itself, in my opinion, as a must-have piece of equipment when on the trail.
The charger input is a Micro USB and the charger cord itself has a USB output which can easily be plugged into one of the iPhone chargers etc.
Another cool little feature is that there is a built-in safety fuse that will automatically cut off the power when extreme conditions are detected.
I’m not too sure how it goes charging an iPad or other smartphones, but it can charge my iPhone 6s about 5 times before it needs to recharge itself.
The Downsides?
The only downside, if you can call them downsides, is that the Xiaomi Power Bank weighs 350g which is somewhat heavy compared to other compact power banks.
Also, recharging the power bank itself takes about 9 hours, but given the upsides previously mentioned, the downsides are hardly going to stop you from buying one.
